What is Forensic Podiatry?


A relatively new branch of podiatric medicine is forensic podiatry. This was first popularised in 2000 with the land mark case heard at the Old Bailey. Being a now fundamental part of the forensic legal system is how as podiatrists the profession is making an impact.

Gait analysis, foot wear, foot print and the evidence they leave behind are the main areas that a forensic podiatrist will focus their attention. Working with the police and presenting in court the skills both legally and with their podiatric experience is paramount the supporting the criminal prosecution services.
