Paul Chadwick appointed Visiting Professor at BCU

College Clinical Director, Dr Paul Chadwick, has been appointed Visiting Professor in Tissue Viability at Birmingham City University (BCU).

Paul joined the College and Society from Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust where, as consultant Podiatrist of the Multidisciplinary Foot Care Team (MDFT), he led a team of nine clinical specialists and was departmental professional lead for the staff team of 35. An advocate of an integrated approach to healthcare, he has played a key role in the development of a whole-system approach to diabetic foot care. He continues to maintain a clinical and research role at Salford as an Honorary Consultant Podiatrist.

Paul has been Clinical Director of the College since May 2017, where he oversees a team of five education staff and is tasked with delivering the clinical leadership agenda of the strategic plan.

He was awarded the College of Podiatry Meritorious Award in 2014 for services to the profession and a Fellowship in Podiatric Medicine in 2015. He is also a Founding Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. 

Paul sits on the Editorial Boards of a number of journals, and is Associate Editor of the Diabetic Foot Journal. Until joining the College of Podiatry he was the Chair of Foot in Diabetes UK.
