#ISeeTheDifference at What Career London

#ISeeTheDifference at What Career London

The #ISeeTheDifference campaign went to the What Career Live event in London over the 12th and 13th October, to showcase the benefits of a career in the Allied Health Professions (AHPs), and signpost attendees to the www.iseethedifference.co.uk website where more information on the professions and course details can be found. Rachel Middleton, Podiatry Outreach Officer attended the event to specifically talk about the varied benefits of a career in Podiatry.

Of course, selling the professions isn’t hard when the benefits are so clear. Podiatry offers great career progression opportunities with plenty of good jobs available after graduation. The range and variety of career pathways is unique, and high patient contact time ensures that podiatrists know they can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Aimed at pupils considering their post-18 options, What Career Live host a series of careers events across England hosting employers and universities alike. In coming months, we’re hoping to be at many more careers fairs, reaching many future podiatrists and other Allied Health Professionals.

This is just one part of our outreach programme, led by our team of officers. They are also setting up schemes to speak to students directly, in schools and colleges up and down the country.

If you know of any future events we should be aware of, or want to support our outreach programme then contact Rachel at rachel.middleton@cop.org.uk

The #ISeeTheDifference campaign is part of the Strategic Interventions in Health Education Disciplines (SIHED) programme. SIHED is a £3m, three-year initiative to help build the sustainability of four key health professions - podiatry, therapeutic radiography, prosthetics and orthotics, and orthoptics.
