Equality, diversity & Inclusion working group

Equality, diversity & Inclusion working group

As an organisation we are committed to providing a community where all members are respected and valued.

While all our members share a common profession, we are a diverse membership made up of individuals with a wide range of characteristics and experiences. Some of the key characteristics of membership diversity include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, ability, and sexual orientation.

We can benefit from our diverse membership by encouraging members to contribute ideas and engage with the organisation based on their experiences and background. This encourages learning, creativity and different viewpoints and experiences contributing to the development of the organisation.  It also supports the building of a sustainable, diverse workforce reflecting all our patients and the communities we serve.

To help us with this we are looking for members who would be interested in volunteering to be part of a short life working group to develop the organisations Equality, diversity & Inclusion strategy.  If you are passionate and knowledgeable about this area and have some time to spare then we would love to hear from you.  It is likely to involve attendance at a workshop in London and being part of a virtual group.  We are hoping to start this working group in early July with the plan to run through to October.

Please send expressions of interest through to Claire Angus at ca@scpod.org.uk

If you don’t have the time to spare but have ideas/input then please feel free to send it along to the above e-mail address and we can feed that into the workshop.
