New Editorial Board - Apply to join us now

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a new Editorial Board. We are looking for members to join us to become part of the board, which will help set the direction and develop editorial priorities for Podiatry Now, and our other communications channels. We have 4-6 places available.

What the role involves

  • Supporting the editorial process by reading and commenting on articles on a monthly basis to ensure they are relevant for podiatrists at different stages in their career, different sectors and different interests, and that they are accurate, up to date and comply with ethical guidelines. These will be mainly non-clinical pieces and shorter case studies. Longer clinical papers will continue to be separately peer-reviewed.

  • Meeting face to face to discuss strategic planning and develop editorial priorities for our communications channels, including Podiatry Now. There are four Editorial Board meetings a year, and we would ask board members to attend a minimum of two of these meetings.

  • Providing input and advice on the development of topic areas to be used as the basis of features, articles and content for Podiatry Now and related communications channels.

What we are looking for

  • We welcome applications from members in all sectors, including private practice, NHS, academia and commercial as well as students.

  • We are looking for the following skills and experience:

Strong communication and analytical skills

Ability to review and interpret complex information and articulate this in an easy to understand way

An interest and/or experience in writing/publishing.

What are the benefits of being on the board?

  • The chance to help contribute to the shaping and influence of our communications channels, including Podiatry Now.

  • Contributing to the strategic work of the College of Podiatry.

  • Working with fellow podiatrists from a variety of backgrounds, with the opportunity for knowledge sharing and expanding your network of like-minded professionals.

  • An opportunity to contribute to the development of the podiatry profession.

This is a voluntary position, and all expenses, including travel and subsistence, will be paid for by the College.

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel including the Editor of Podiatry Now, Clinical Director and Member of Council, who will make the final decision.

If you are interested, then please would you complete the form below and attach a Curriculum Vitae.

The closing date for applications is 28 February 2019.
