Clinical survey exploring current vascular assessment techniques

Clinical survey exploring current vascular assessment techniques

Are you a HCPC registered podiatrist currently practising in the UK? Researchers would like to hear from you about your current practice in vascular assessment of the lower limb. Participation is completely up to you and will take approximately 15 minutes of your time.

Dr Peta Tehan, podiatrist and clinical researcher based at the University of Newcastle, Australia, is working with UK vascular specialist podiatrists Susan Matthews and Martin Fox, researching vascular assessment techniques by podiatrists in the UK.

The purpose of the research is to ascertain what current practice is among podiatrists completing vascular assessments in the UK. This will help determine what future educational training is needed and if more standardised methods of practice are required in podiatry.

The results of this research may inform the need for promotion of early diagnosis and appropriate management of people with peripheral arterial disease.

The survey is open until 30th September 2018 and takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.

University of Newcastle, Australia (ethics H-2012-0384). The survey is secure, and anonymous and data is treated according to university policy, stored in a secure environment and destroyed after 5 years.
