The Faculty of Podiatric Medicine is the advisory body on all matters relating to the educational needs of practicing podiatrists; embracing clinical update, new skills, knowledge and techniques; evidence-based changes to practice; and changes to practice resulting from research, audit, government policy, and other sources of reliable information and policy within the sphere of medicine. 

  • ·The Faculty makes recommendations to The Clinical Senate on all strategy affecting clinical and professional practice.
  • ·Advises on the policy and strategies for the development and implementation of CPD for podiatrists.
  • ·Acts as a focus for specialist advisory groups (SAGs).
  • ·Supports the Conference Committee on the educational programme for the Annual Conference.
  • ·Supports the approval process of short CPD courses leading to an extension of practice (excluding those relating to podiatric surgery) and to advise on the appropriateness of short course provision.
  • ·Administers the award of Fellowship of the College of Podiatry in Podiatric Medicine (FCPM).
  • ·Keeps the College adequately informed of all matters relating to the provision and quality of post-registration training activity.
  • ·Contributes to the achievement of the College’s strategic goals.
  • ·Advises on relevant guidance either nationally or professionally which will affect clinical and professional practice.
